Kent CPSA Committee Meeting
 at The Ramada Hotel on 1st July 2009

COMMITTEE MEMEBERS IN ATTENDANCE:-

PRESENT: Alfie Newman (AN), Johnny Walker (JW), Karen Husk (KH), Richard Moate (RM) Stella Hales (SH) and David Amos (DA).

APOLOGIES: Gordon Lee (GL) and Sarah Quinn (SQ).

ABSENT: Ron Smith (RS).

APPROVAL OF DRAFT MINUTES:

The draft Minutes of the Meeting held on the 20th May, 2009 were approved by JW and seconded by KH.

TREASURERS REPORT:

Shows that the balance at the end of May was 2,289.06. A photocopy of the transactions were given to the Committee, showing how the balance was arrived at and is attached to these Minutes.

AN will put in an invoice for 11.83p for sundries.  A refund of 28.00p has been requested for Ollie Wellard for his Skeet Entry and Lewis Ballantyne has requested refunds for two Championship entries of 64.00.  JW approved and SH seconded.

MATTERS ARISING:

Ron Smith has requested being taken off the committee which we have accepted.   This leaves a position free on the committee which is open to any Kent CPSA member.

Shoot Off  between James Attwood and Burt French for the Kent ESP High Gun. 
After taking advice from CPSA head office it was decided that a shoot-off between James and Mr French was the fairest solution.   AN to arrange a shoot-off with both parties and a ground and time of their convenience.

JW awaiting confirmation in writing that for National and Regional shoots you cannot dictate what cartridges to shoot, but you can if it is a County competition .

We need names for Colt and Junior entries to the British Open as our sponsors would like to know.  Spread the word.

SH to action speaking to James Attwood about being in the DTL and DT Championships.  At present the Team stands as Karen Husk, Kevin Howland, Timmy Martin  DA to organize.

Trophies we need to find a way of keeping track of all trophies.  Suggestions were to put a fine on the return of trophies, signing for trophies when they are given out and asking Clubs to give names and addresses or contact details of those we know hold trophies.  JW suggested that all badges should have the details of the discipline on it as the badges at present could be for any Championship. Seconded SH.

Maxine Hales has asked we take a serious look at getting Kent Championships – back in Kent.  SH suggested approaching several grounds to see they would be interested in registering and holding Championship shoots at their grounds.  SH also suggested that a team could be drafted in to help them set up the day.  Maxine also made a point about competitions being on the same day.  JW suggested we wait until the CPSA      draft dates are in circulation before we give competitions to Clubs. RM seconded.

Michele Waghorne is a 29 year old lady asking for sponsorship.  AN to action writing to her and explaining there are only limited funds and helping her if need be to write to various other parties requesting sponsorship.

FUND RAISING:

 AN  suggested not chasing Mitsubishi or Blair and Cramer for sponsorship at the present time RM  seconded.                         

    Dinner and Dance 2009

Vanilla Ransom has confirmed they will be playing at the dinner dance KH.  

 

WEBSITE:

AN  awaiting write-ups and photos from all the Championships as they are needed for the web site.

TROPHY MANAGEMENT:

KH to organize signing for trophies at the next AGM .

ANY OTHER BUSINESS:

Everyone to get as many photos and write-ups as they can.
