Kent CPSA Committee Meeting
On Wednesday 20th May, 2009 at The Ramada Hotel
COMMITTEE MEMEBERS IN ATTENDANCE:-
PRESENT: Alfie Newman (AN), Johnny Walkers (JW), Sarah Quinn (SQ), Richard Moate (RM) and Stella Hales (SH), Gordon Lee (GL).
APOLOGIES : Karen Husk (KH)
ABSENT: Ron Smith (RS)
APPROVAL OF DRAFT MINUTES:
The draft Minutes of the Meeting held on the 8th April, 2009 were approved by AN and seconded by JW.
TREASURERS REPORT:
Funds at present stand us in 2,365.71 which includes raffle ticket sales from AN of 120.00. AN also took another 70.00, SH 26.00, JW 120.00, RM 25.00, SQ 46.00, West Kent 21.00, making closing balance of 2673.71.
AN has had a request that a refund on Frank Clarks ESK Colt Champion entry fee of 32.00 be refunded, which was agreed and seconded by SH. Once KH has changed the bank details AN will action this.
AN put in a sundries invoice of 13.65 for coffee (last meeting), postage etc.
MATTERS ARISING:
The Committee discussed the possibility that grounds may not be able to impose a toxic shot restriction at County Championships.
It was felt that as other Gun Clubs on the Island can use whatever cartridges they like that Kings Ferry may need to fight and overturn the decision to force them to only use. steel in order that Championships in the future may be held there. It states in the rules that you must be able to chose cartridges of your choice whether they be steel, lead or felt. AN/GL to action why one Club is banned and not another. GL states that Nicola Errend is the person to speak to about this.
FUND RAISING:
Raffle prizes AN bought meal voucher for 50.00 of his own back and SH seconded this.
AN, JW, SQ and SH have agreed to help out on Raffle day at Dartford Shooting Ground on the 31st May.
Dinner and Dance 2009
AN booked The Hop Farm and Vanilla Ransom for the 13th November, 2009. The cost per head to the KCPSA is 24.00 with a minimum of 80 guests. A deposit of 587.50 is required to secure the booking and the Venue has agreed to let us have free coffee on the evening. It was agreed we needed to sell the tickets at 27.50 in order to raise funds and cover all outgoings. It was agreed to only start selling tickets from about August time, as this will have given AN time to design and print them. AN to action contacting KH to confirm that the Band is still available, as one member is apparently ill. We also need to know what donation Kent Woolgrowers is giving.
CHAMPIONSHIPS:
All championships are being covered and the web up-to-date.
GL taken badges for DT and OT
JW taken badges for Kings Ferry and
SH for Southdown English Sporting and Sportrap.
AN to put out an advert for volunteers to shoot the ABT at Bisley as there appears to be a lot on and at present there is not a Kent team.

TROPHY MANAGEMENT:
AN to action purchase of trophy for ESK Non Toxic Veteran. Funded by KCPSA.
GL to action purchase/donation of Colt trophy. Both AN and GL to speak together regarding purchase of a trophy for the English Sporting (Colt) following coming weekend.
SH to action speaking to Shaun T, regarding supplying Ladies and Colt FITASC trophy.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
To discuss at next meeting the possibility of holding a KCPSA charity shoot and the merits of giving direct to the charity or maybe to a widow or widower RM seconded SH.
