There was an excellent turnout for this event at Invicta where the weather was very good. Berkshire, who have been threatening to win an inter-counties event ever since they joined us, emerged the Champions. Nicola Heron is the first Lady to win HIGH GUN in a very long time. Kent's Ron Smith was in the shoot-off for high gun with Nicola Heron and Jack Sparrowhawk but had to settle for Veteran Champion. Kent can also boast Ladies Champion in Dionne Rogers.

The reigning champions, Oxfordshire, held their lead right until the last squad was in but Kent emerged the Champions with Oxfordshire in second place and Greater London third.
The champion after a shoot-off with the Essex Junior, Jack Greenleaf, was John Watson from Sussex despite him having a senior moment and losing a target because he forgot to put a cartridge in his gun. The entire Kent team only dropped 13 targets !
Tom Corbin from Kent won the Colt Champion with an impresive 98/100.

*** S.E. REGION INTERCOUNTIES ~ Olympic Skeet ~ NCSC 10th May 2009 ***
Weather was perfect - sunny, warm and a slight breeze. A total of 45 shooters with six full Country teams proved to be a good turn out. Essex the previous winners got off to a good start with 109/125 followed by Grtr London on 100/125. It was 'nip and tuck' all the way to the finish with Essex winning the championship by just ten targets.
There was some very good shooting by Junior Guy Franklin (Sussex) and Hoshang Noria (Gt London) who both shot 95/100. Both shooters ending up in a shoot-off for overall Champion. Hoshang winning after an incredible finale to the event.
Many thanks to Barry Desborough and his team at NCSC for hosting the event.
