A big “HELLO!” to all Kent CPSA members who have been checking the Kent section of the CPSA website.
As you may know, we are a new committee voted in by the members who attended the Kent AGM on the 24/02/12 with some old and new faces among us.
You can already see that, thanks to Johnny Walker, our corner of the CPSA website has been updated with forthcoming events and results as we all feel it is important to try and give you as much information as possible so you have the option of shooting county events or making the inter-county teams.
Roger Hoad is still doing a great job putting as much information, space permitting, into Pull magazine, but as this is now bi-monthly, the web site will be more up to date, so please check it out on a regular basis.
As a new committee we are not going to get everything right straight away, and would appreciate any members out there who have any information or results you think we should place on the website to let us know via our email addresses published on the site.
Winners of Kent competitions this year will receive their Kent badge either at the event or soon after via the post. If we have missed you, please email with your name, address and event you have won.
All trophies for this year’s championships i.e.2012 will be handed out at the 2013 AGM which may then be kept up to a month before the AGM 2014.
Unfortunately, we have been forced to do this as in the past full records were not kept of the winners and some trophies have gone “walk-about”. If you have a Kent trophy not awarded to you at this year’s AGM, please contact Gordon Lee on 07711 781333 who is trying to locate all of Kent’s trophies and give them to the current champions.
Our thanks to all of the members who have competed in the competitions and selections so far and to the grounds that have held them and made them so successful!
We wish you all success in your shooting and above all, to have some fun and enjoy the day!
Tim Greenwood. Chairman. Kent CPSA.
Notice. Dont forget that its the 3rd Kent Skeet Team Selection at Kingsferry on Sunday 8th April
.
IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ and RESPOND
In response to members opinions regarding the amount of Kent County Championships being held outside of the county, the committee are considering not registering next years championships.
This will mean that they can be held at any ground and will be open to ALL Kent residents. Ground owners that have flatly refused to hold any registered shoot are now expressing a genuine desire to be involved in these events.
PLEASE let us know your feelings on this, so far the response has been 100% in favour.
FITASC SPORTING INTERCOUNTIES TEAM
In an effort to create equal opportunities for all Kent members to represent their County I propose to use the following 2 shoots to select the team for the Intercounties FITASC being held at Southdown on the 14th/15th16th October.
The G.B. selection shoot at Southdown on 18th/19th June.
The Kent County FITASC Championship on 16th/17th/18th September also at Southdown.
If insufficient Kent members shoot the G.B. Selection Shoot, the team will be based on the Kent County Championship.
Below are the FITASC rankings based on the last year’s averages.
Seniors : H.Hajilou* 89.0% Veterans: K.Busher * 77.4%
D.C.Coumbe 86.5%
R.Straker 86.0% C.Mumford * 74.1%
J.Brightman 85.0%
H.Arnold 85.0% Ladies S.Quinn 59.0%
S.Collett 84.5% T.Kemsley 57.0%
K.Howland 83.5%
P.Kemsley 82.8% Juniors No Juniors have shot FITASC this year
G.Burton * 82.5%
C.Hales 81.7% Colts Nathan Hales 72.7%
Nathan Hales is the only colt with a score in FITASC so automatically qualifies due to his experience of the discipline.
Kent CPSA Data Base (27/05/2011)
In an attempt to improve communication of urgent information to KCPSA members the committee wishes to build a data base of members details.
In order to be able to do this we need the following:
Full name and CPSA membership number.
E mail address.
Mobile and Home phone numbers.
It would also be useful, but not essential, to let us know what disciplines you shoot and if you are prepared to shoot for the county (possibly at short notice).
There are many benefits to the committee having access to this information. The first one that comes to mind is that none of the discipline representatives would be faced with putting a team together without any means of contacting potential team members (as I was when trying to enter a team for the Intercounties Sporting recently).
It also allows swift response to any incident such as gun theft.
So if you want to be contactable, please e mail me your details to rodger.hoad@btinternet.com The information will not be used for any other purpose and will not be passed to any other person or agency.
