HANDICAP BY DISTANCE

HELD AT THE NOTTINGHAM & DISTRICT GUN CLUB

ON SUNDAY 5TH MARCH

LINCOLNSHIRE HANDICAP BY DISTANCE CHAMPION 2023

It's March so don't expect the weather to be great.  Combine this with the extra yardage which Handicap by Distance demands then you have a tough competition.  This event was twinned with Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and attracted a total entry of 30 of which 9 brave souls were from Lincolnshire.  Top dog for Lincolnshire was C class shooter, Ivor Wright, whose score of 276 very nearly won the competition outright being just 3 points back from Nottinghamshire's Gerry Stevenson.  Runner up was A class shooter, John Winn, who, from 21 yards back, scored 271.  Top lady was Elzbieta MacGreggor White on 246.  Handicap by Distance is a tricky old discipline so those who did not score so well need not feel bad - the extra yardage makes it a whole different ball game to down the line and at least it blew the cobwebs away and set everybody up for the coming season.
