HEREFORD & WORCESTER OLYMPIC TRAP CHAMPIONSHIP AND ALSO
WEST MIDLAND OLYMPIC TRAP AREA & INTER-COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP 2015

It was good to see a reasonable turn out for the Hereford & Worcester Olympic Trap Championship which was also the Inter-County and Area Olympic Trap event at Griffin-Lloyd on Sunday 26th July.  Sadly this event clashed with another event that was put on the calendar after our fixture and the West Midland fixtures had been agreed!  However the event was still a successful day with 6 full squads shooting.  The H&W County Champion was Trevor Lloyd with an excellent 88, runner up on 87 was Chris Moule with Rod Davies taking 3rd on 85.  The weather conditions were not the best, with heavy showers and gusting wind for most of the day.  Trevor has made a return to Olympic Trap after a 10 year gap!  He also wins the County Veterans Championship as well.  Jackie Lewis won the Ladies Championship event on 74.  Sadly there were no Juniors at the event.

Hereford & Worcester also won Area medals with Chris Moule winning the Gold Area Champion medal and Rod Davies the Bronze Area medal (on count back).  Jackie Lewis won the Area Ladies Gold Championship medal with Trevor Lloyd winning the Area Veterans Gold medal.

Hereford & Worcester are the Inter-County Champions on 387 -  Chris Moule 87, Rod Davies 85, Nick Stokes 77, Jackie Lewis 74, Craig Miles 64 and Andrew Foxall 63.  The day went very well with squads running without any hold ups, so we all got home in good time.  Our thanks to all the staff at Griffin-Lloyd especially Jackie who not only helped with all the set up and scores but also shot with us in the winning team. HEREFORD & WORCESTER OLYMPIC TRAP COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014

This Championship was held again at Griffin-Lloyd and we would like to thank them for allowing us to hold our County Championship there.  Only 3 H&W members turned out as it clashed with a selection shoot at Beverley, will try to avoid this next year.  Ron Braithwaite took the County title with 73 ex 125.  The runner up and very close on his heels with 70 ex 125 was Lady/Junior laura Betts with John Ward on 69 ex 125.  All very close scores.

 INTER COUNTIES OT CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010

The I/C O/T championships were held at Nuthampstead on Sunday 19th September.  We were blessed with a sunny day although a fairly stiff breeze was blowing across the layouts making for some quick targets.  Having been beaten into second place by Warwickshire last year we were keen to get revenge, and we did, taking team Gold and a very respectable haul of individual medals.

Area and I/C Olympic Trap at Nuthampstead, 20th September 2009.

Three Golds for Hereford and Worcester shooters.

Mark Lilly claimed Gold in the Seniors at this seasons Area and Inter-counties Olympic Trap Championship at Nuthampstead on Sunday 20th September.

Mark shot an excellent score of 92 in very bright conditions, but had to wait until the end before he knew he had got Gold.

Kevin Gill could draw have drawn level with Mark by straighting his last round, but Kevin dropped his last target to give Mark the top spot.

There were two other Gold medals for our shooters when Jo Allen claimed Gold in the Ladies on 81/100 and Bradley Strain took the Junior Gold on 69.

Although there was a good overall turnout of 41, only two teams were entered for the Inter-Counties, Warwickshire, and Hereford & Worcester.

It was a close run competition between the two teams up to the last round when Warwickshire managed to pulled ahead.

Results:

Mark Lilly 92

Nick Stokes 86

Lewis Mucklow 79

Richard Allen 77

Roy Hampton 70
