East Midlands Skeet Report

This years Norfolk Skeet Captain (Trevor Frammingham) has provided a report from this years inter county event held at Nottingham & District Gun Club.

 

East Midlands Skeet Championship at Nottingham and District Gun Club.

The norfolk senior skeet team consisting of Trev Frammingham (captain) Steve Smith,Jonny Hall,Paul Freeman,Brian Melton, Phillip Soanes and Gareth Maund as well as the two juniors Charlie Soanes and Tom Whiffen who made the long trip to Nottingham for the East Midlands skeet championship.

We have been in the mix for this for several years now and this year was no exception. Trev, Steve and Gareth carded 98s, Jonny and Phil 97s, Brian 96, Paul having a rare off day with a 94.

Best 6 scores to count and we were quietly confident that we could have nicked it. But as so often happens in the most competitive of disciplines, eventual winners Northamptonshire pipped us at the post by two targets. Great shooting from C class winner Phillip Soanes with a 97. We all reckoned it was a solid team performance.

Special mention must go to the two juniors Charlie Soanes and Tom Whiffen competing in their first but certainly not their last east midlands skeet championship. Although the lads were out of the prizes they impressed everyone with the way they conducted themselves on and off the ranges, A credit to their parents and to Norfolk, Well done lads. Great shooting ,well organised and excellent targets from the Nottingham & District management.
