September Pull! Report - 2018
Norfolk County Olympic Skeet Championship held at Priory CTC was held in excellent weather, nice and sunny, no wind, the targets were set up lovely and flying nice, there were no breakdowns and shot straight through, refereed by GB shooter and world number one Aaron heading who did an excellent job. Scott Buck had not done much Olympic skeet shooting but improved his score from last year by 12 targets, ending up on a 64/100. The shoot was run by Aaron and Natasha Heading, Scott would like to thank them for putting on a good day. Congratulations to Jonny Hall who followed his Norfolk county skeet championship win with a score of 99 by securing the senior high gun at the English skeet England team selection shoot with a 397, joining the England team for the home International at Doveridge.

The Norfolk Sporting Championship Held on Sunday 15 July at Mid Norfolk Shooting Ground, Taverham. There was sunshine all day which made conditions quite humid but a good turnout of Norfolk shooters. MJ Goddard was top senior with an excellent score of 96 out of 100. Top veteran ER Hallwood 84. Top lady K Neave 76. Top junior C Soanes 83. And a mention to colt shooter T Durrant 59. Thank you to all those who attended and to Steve Bennington and his staff for running the event.
A quick mention for the Norfolk shooters who were placed in the Jack Pyke this year, unfortunately I do not have their scores. D Morley joint winner, R Bunning, R Newstead in A class. M Ellis won B class, J Matthewson, T Sayer. N Benstead in C class, L Wainwright, C Sayer, N Edwards & C Johnson, not bad 11 shooters from Norfolk well done to all and a special well done to Neil Benstead’s daughter Kate Benstead who is 15, shot her first big competition with a score of 75. Kate started shooting two and a half years ago as a lefty but after a year her dominant eye changed so she has learned to shoot right handed. I am sure we will see and hear more of this young lady in the coming years.
Norfolk’s skeet shooters are enjoying a good season so far with Jonny Hall qualifying as equal high gun for the England skeet team as well as winning A class at the English open at Bisley and adding the county championship to his CV this year. County skeet team captain Trev Frammingham is in a fine run of form at the moment as well, east midlands skeet veterans champion and runner up east midlands skeet losing to skeet ace Dave Morgan in a shoot off. Trev added the Norfolk skeet doubles high gun and veterans title as well as runner up in the vets class at the east midlands skeet doubles. Sporting shooters Dave Gooding and Ian Hallwood claimed the east midlands skeet doubles senior and veterans titles. Upcoming junior William Gilbert claimed the Junior medal at the county championship.
