November & December Pull! Report - 2018

Welcome to Norfolk Pull!. Thank you for your reports – please keep them coming.

2 September: Inter-Counties DTL at Nottingham Gun Club The Norfolk DTL Team travelled to Nottingham for the Inter-Counties DTL. The weather was quite hot with a little breeze, which made the targets on some ranges move up and down. Saying that, the Senior team shot quite a good score, considering the conditions. On the day we were beaten by Nottingham who scored 1,761 points to Norfolk’s score of 1,741. So well done to Norfolk for managing Runner up. Our scores were: John Reynolds 100/299, Russell Houghton 99/295, P Owen 99/295, R Flowers 98/286, D Taylor 97/285, R Gilbert 97/283, W Gilbert 97/283, J Mathewson 96/283. Congratulations to William Gilbert, Junior, who shot a PB of 97 – well done! The Veterans scores were: R Daws 94/280, M Eales 88/258, A Smith 84/242. A special thanks to all the team members who attended from Ray Daws, Team Captain. We will be returning to Nottingham for the Inter-Counties ABT.

Skeet Jonny Hall shooting for England at the Home International scored a very credible 145/150 – well done and what a fantastic experience. Steve Smith was high gun for the Norfolk Seniors at the East Midlands Inter-Counties with an excellent 99, Mike Jennings top Veteran with an 87. Paul Freeman and Trevor Frammingham were the top Norfolk shooters at the British Open with 97’s. A thank you to all the team who attended from Trevor Frammingham.

Olympic Trap Elise Dixon had a fantastic opportunity to represent England as their Development Shooter at the Commonwealth Shooting Federation (European Division) Championships held at Logue’s Hill, Northern Ireland. It was a great event with support from the local council to ensure that shooters and spectators had a wonderful time making the most of the region. Well done to all those involved organising the event, Northern Ireland Shooting Federation, Commonwealth Shooting Federation (ED) and the Ulster Clay Pigeon Association, it was well organised and ran like clockwork. Elise shot well on the first day finishing on 62/75. Going into day two, Elise felt confident and finished on a respectable 98/125. Elise was pleased with a new personal best at a big event however just shy of the 100 mark she was aiming for. We are sure Elise will continue to move forward and we wish her the best of luck for the British Shotgun Series Grand Final to be held at Fauxdegla 22/23 September 2018.
