January & February Pull! Report - 2020

As the 2020 season begins we have the remaining highlights from 2019 to share. Norfolk had a great year with nine County Championships. Well done to our Overall Supreme Champion Jason Matthewson, who accrued the most points over the course of the year. Second was Richard Gilbert, Third was William Gilbert. In the Veterans team, first was Richard Gilbert, second Ray Dawes, joint third Mike Jennings and Paul Owen. Ladies team first place went to Tracey Sizeland, second to Heather Pointer and Thalleia Jennings. Junior first was William Gilbert and Thalleia Jennings. Norfolk travelled to Nottingham District Gun Club for the East Midlands Region Inter-Counties ABT Championships. It was no surprise that Norfolk’s Senior team would be on top form, securing overall first place. Well done to Jason Matthewson, Richard Gilbert, Robert Flowers, Andy Bowers, Simon Owen and Niall Crumpler. The Veterans team of Paul Owen, John Reynolds, Ray Dawes and Mike Eales gave a sterling performance, bringing home the silver. A special mention to William Nicholas, this was Williams second ABT competition, he is a welcome new addition to Norfolk’s Junior team. Whilst Norfolk didn’t win the overall Junior team, well done to William Gilbert for taking Junior High Gun. Elise Dixon made the most of a sunny October half term, competing in the Olympic Trap event and with more than 120 shooters in attendance, it was a busy international competition. Elise finished the season securing her first Junior Ladies gold medal, beating the Finnish Junior to take top spot.
