August Pull! Report - 2021

There were no County Championships this month but plenty of regional and national championships as well as selection shoots, with some great results across the disciplines.

 

31 May: Cheddite Championship 2021, Barrow Sporting Clays Sam Green was High Gun on 113ex120 after a shoot-off which was a great way for him to celebrate his birthday. Well done also to Carson Revell who came third AA Class, Ian Hallwood third A Class, and Karl Hoolhouse third B Class. Special congratulations to Junior Angus Hepworth-Smith who was first in C Class.

 

6 Jun: English Open Compak Sporting, Orston Shooting Ground Congratulations again to Sam Green who was Runner-up with a fantastic score of 97ex100.

 

6 Jun: English Open English Skeet, Eriswell An excellent result for Archy Stannard who scored 99ex100 at the English Open English Skeet Championship. He then went into a three-way shoot-off where he walked away with the Junior High Gun title.

 

12 Jun: Dougall Memorial DTL, Bywell Niall Crumpler made the very long trip to Northumbria to compete in this championship. His score of 100/297 placed him in a two-way shoot-off for third place. He was unlucky to drop a target, losing out to Dan Price, but came away with a very well deserved first in AA Class.

 

13 Jun: East Midlands Region English Skeet Championship, Eriswell Lodge Congratulations again to Archy Stannard. His score of 99 put him in another shoot-off. This time he took on Stuart Smith and came away with not only the Junior but also the Regional Champion title as well. Well done also to Alison Coupe who scored 93 to take the Ladies title.

 

13 Jun: East Midlands Region Olympic Trap Championship, East Yorkshire CSG William Gilbert and Elise Dixon travelled to Yorkshire to compete in the Regional OTR Championship. It was worth the long trip as they came back with the Junior High Gun and Ladies High Gun titles respectively.

 

17-19 Jun: Beretta World Sporting Championship, E.J. Churchill Great results from three of Norfolk’s top Sporting shooters. Competing with Berettas in this 120-target competition were Mark Goddard on 114, Richard Bunning on 113, and Sam Green on 112. Everyone put in excellent scores to place fourth, fifth, and tenth on countback respectively.

 

20 Jun: England Team English Skeet Selection Shoot, Eriswell Lodge Archy Stannard competed for a place in the England English Skeet Junior Team. This was the first of two invitation-only selection shoots, with the second taking place in July at East Yorkshire CSG. He scored 197 which placed him fourth in Juniors.

 

20 Jun: British Shooting Shotgun Series, East Yorkshire CSG Elise Dixon competed in the first of three Olympic Trap events in the British Shooting Shotgun Series. Having shot a new personal best of 102ex125, she placed second in the Junior Ladies final.

 

26-27 Jun: England ABT Team Selection Shoot, East Yorkshire CSG William Gilbert was on top form and scored 192, a new personal best out of 200, which included a 75-straight. This not only placed him first in Juniors, but joint second Overall and in A Class, just two points off the lead. Elise Dixon placed joint ninth in Ladies and fifth in Juniors.

 

CPSA World English Sporting Championship Huge congratulations to Richard Bunning, Karl Hagan (new cap), and Ian Hallwood who have all been selected to represent England at E.J. Churchill Shooting Ground on 6-11 July. We wish them all good luck.
