October Pull! Report - 2021
23 Jul: Norfolk County AGM Chalk Farm CG hosted this year’s AGM, chaired by Vice Chairman Mike Jennings as Trevor Frammingham resigned as chairman earlier in the year. With only 12 CPSA members in attendance, the future of Norfolk CPSA was in serious doubt. Fortunately, the County CPSA was not disbanded as enough volunteers agreed to be elected to the Committee, enabling it to continue. This year’s Chairman is Roger Farman, with Mike Jennings as Vice Chairman. Treasurer is Steve Cross and the Secretary is Kyle WoodhallCross. Our thanks to them and the five other newly elected committee members.
1 Aug: Norfolk County Skeet Doubles, The Priory CTC Five Norfolk shooters competed in this championship which was held in conjunction with the Lincolnshire County Championship. Congratulations to John Glover who was Norfolk High Gun, winning his first County championship with a fantastic score of 94. Congratulations also to John Reynolds who won another Veteran title, scoring 86, and Thaleia Jennings who won both the Ladies and Junior titles with a score of 42.
6-8 Aug: English Open Sportrap, High Lodge Congratulations to Richard Bunning who won the first English Open Sportrap Championship and took home the shiny new trophy. There was some great shooting from Sam Green who finished third, just one point off High Gun. Well done also to Jake Moore who was third in AAA Class, and Peter Skillen who was second in C Class.
7-8 Aug: British Shooting Shotgun Series Round three, Nuthampstead SG William Gilbert and Elise Dixon competed in the final round of the Shotgun Series. William’s score of 115ex125 placed him Joint second in Junior Men after the qualification rounds. He just missed out on a medal, placing fourth in the Junior Men’s Super Final. Unfortunately, there were not enough Junior Ladies for a Super Final, but Elise’s score of 92ex125 placed her fourth in her category after the qualification rounds.
15 Aug: The Pro One Challenge Congratulations to Sam Green on his win at the Pro One Challenge Championship 2021 at Barbury. He scored an unbeaten 116ex120. There was also some great shooting also from Richard Bunning who finished on 114, winning the AAA Class prize.
15 Aug: East Midlands Region ESP, Barrow Sporting Clays There was a total of 166 shooters, including 39 from Norfolk, at the championship which drew competitors from across the region and beyond. Congratulations to Ian Hallwood, who scored 90ex100 and placed third in Veterans. Congratulations also to Karl Hagan, who was fourth Overall and second in AAA Class with a score of 93. Just one point behind him was Darren Wall, who was joint third in AA Class. Well done to everyone who competed.
21-29 Aug: Essex Gun Masters, Hepworth Hall An epic championship with the 100-target Red and Black Courses set by John Dyson and his team. There were some fantastic scores from Norfolk competitors and amongst the class prize winners were Sam Green, who was joint 11th in AAA Class, Carson Revell joint third AA Class, Darren Wall joint 11th AA Class, and Dean Cann first A Class. Norfolk Juniors Travis Durrant and George Howling placed ninth and Joint tenth respectively in their category.
27-28 Aug: English Skeet Home International, Fauxdegla SG New Cap Archy Stannard competed as a member of the England Junior English Skeet Team. He scored a fantastic 146ex150 and not only placed third in Juniors, but also joint sixth Overall. This helped England to win the Junior Team and Overall Country trophies. Congratulations to Archy on an excellent achievement.
