March Pull! Report - 2022

We hope you have had a good start to the year and would like to thank everyone who attended the Norfolk CPSA AGM at Chalk Farm Clay Ground on 18 January. The Norfolk CPSA Committee Chairman is Roger Farman, Vice Chairman Mike Jennings, Treasurer Stephen Cross, and Secretary Kyle Woodhall-Cross. Committee members are Jonathan Balls, Cyril Fisher, Robert Flowers, Richard Gilbert, Jonathan Hall, Jason Matthewson, and Peter Skillen. ABT team manager is Jason Matthewson, DTL Richard Gilbert, AR Mike Jennings, ESP Jonathan Balls, ESK Jonathan Hall, and FITASC Jonathan Balls and Heather Pointer. One familiar name is missing from this list. I am sure we would all like to offer our sincere thanks to Ray Daws who, after many years, has decided to step down from the Committee and ABT and DTL Team Manager. In possibly his proudest moment he led the Senior team to victory at the National Inter-Counties ABT Championship at Nuthampstead SG in 2018. During his time as manager some of the team members have probably collected enough regional championship tankards to complete a set. Kyle Woodhall-Cross has worked extremely hard to update the Norfolk County CPSA website and arrange the Championships for the coming year. Dates and venues for these are listed on the website, along with previous County and Supreme Champions. We hope you have already been able to get in some practice this year and look forward to seeing you at the County and Regional Championships. Now that we have six team managers for Inter-Counties disciplines, we are hopeful that more teams will be able to compete at the Regional Championships. And in other news, it has been a quiet couple of months but some of you have not rested, braving the cold weather and putting in some great scores. Congratulations to Norfolk shooters on your excellent results.

12 Dec: Neil Kaye Memorial DTL Shoot, Nottingham & DGC Niall Crumpler shot a fantastic 100/300. A break in the weather allowed the sun to shine and the temperature rose, to give better than expected conditions. The Nottingham wind was present, but clearly failed to provide too much of a challenge for Niall.

23 Jan: British Shooting Masters Winter League, Nuthampstead SG William Gilbert and Elise Dixon both travelled to Nuthampstead for the second round of the 50 target Olympic Trap re-entry competition. William scored an excellent 45ex50 to win joint High Gun, and Elise scored 40ex50 for joint seventh.

December and January Clay Snooker, East of England SG The winner of the December round of this re-entry competition was David Gooding with a score of 75. Jamie Dodd was joint third with a score of 67. Glenn Halls won the January round with two unbeaten scores of 87ex100. He was closely followed by Joe Norman who was just two points behind. We wish them the best of luck as they have all qualified to compete in the Grand Final in April.

29 Jan: 100 English Sporting, Chalk Farm CG Just over 100 clay shooters attended the CPSA registered competition. Under harsh weather conditions, Carson Revell won with an impressive score of 88, taking home the £200 High Gun prize. David Gooding was third with a score of 84.
