May Pull! Report - 2022

Bob Smith – CPSA Volunteer of the Year Congratulations to Bob Smith, who was recognised for all his hard work as a volunteer over the past six years. During this time, he has reported on local events and those further afield which are of interest to the members of the Facebook page he maintains – Diss Area Sporting Clay Shooters. He has also organised shoots and raised money for local charities such as St Nicholas Hospice Care. The next 100 ESP charity shoot he is organising will be held on 4 September at Barrow Sporting Clays by kind permission of Ben Thorrold. 6 Mar: 100 ESP, Barrow SC An excellent score of 95 saw David Gooding win High Gun, beating fellow Norfolk shooter Mark Goddard by one point. Two points behind David were Richard Bunning and Joe Norman.

 

19-20 Mar: England ESP Team Selection Shoot, Orston SG Congratulations to Mark Goddard who scored 83 on the Saturday, 3 points off High Gun of the day. Well done also to Sam Green who scored 85 on the Sunday which was also 3 points off High Gun of the day. A busy day for Sam, as he then travelled to Northampton SG where he was Joint High Gun with an excellent score of 97. We wish Mark, Sam and all the other Norfolk ESP shooters the best of luck at the next five Selection Shoots.

 

Clay Shooter Winter Series – EOESG Congratulations to Norfolk shooters David Gooding, Jamie Dodd, Glenn Halls, and Joe Norman, who qualified for the final on 8 April after the Winter Series. They were four of 13 competitors who made it through after six months of qualifiers to battle it out for seven cash prizes.

 

Norfolk Juniors Congratulations to William Gilbert who has been selected by British Shooting to compete in the Olympic Trap Championship at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany, in May. This will be his first time competing in an international championship overseas, and we wish him and his teammates all the best. William started his bid for a third England cap at the first England ABT Team Selection Shoot at the National Clay Shooting Centre on 3-4 April. Despite experiencing some very challenging weather conditions, including snow, he placed ninth overall. Archy Stannard competed in the first ESK Selection Shoot at Doveridge Clay Sports Centre on 26-27 March where he scored 188ex200. We wish him the best of luck at the 2nd Selection Shoot at the National Clay Shooting Centre in June.
