Norfolk Skeet Championship 2022

Norfolk Skeet Championship 2022

We had the Norfolk Skeet Championship held at The Priory Clay Target Centre today where we had a healthy entry which included 20 Norfolk entrants considering the number of other shoots on today. It was good to see so many new faces and old today where this year’s competition was going to be very close where in skeet, a single clay could cost you dearly.

This years Norfolk Skeet champion is Jonny Hall with a good 98/100 who managed to just hold off Sean Crutchfield and John Glover who both finished just shy with 97/100. This has made it a hattrick for Jonny Hall who has successfully managed to win the Norfolk skeet 3 years running. Sean Crutchfield was on a hot streak where he managed an incredible feat of shooting 75 straight and then unfortunately missed 3 clays on his last layout.

The veterans title went to Trevor Frammingham with a decent score of 96/100 where he managed to retain his veteran title from 2021. Trevor was in good form but had a split lapse on his last layout where he missed his first target and option otherwise he would have been tied with Jonny Hall for this years county title. The next highest scoring veteran was John Reynolds with 90/100 who is usually found shooting trap disciplines but John had a bad first layout but managed a 25 straight on his 3rd layout.

This years ladies title goes to the lovely Alison Coupe with whom I had the pleasure of shooting in the same squad today. Alison shot a good 91/100 where she is coming back into the sport of clay pigeon shooting after an incredible 35 year break.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Natasha and Aaron at The Priory Clay Target Centre for holding this event for our county. We would also like to thank all the other staff and referees for their help running this event and to all the people who turned up today to support the shoot.

If anyone missed the chance to put their name down for consideration for the inter counties later in the year can you please get in contact with us here or via Jonny Hall.
