Norfolk Double Rise 2022
Norfolk Double Rise
The Norfolk Double Rise was held earlier this evening at Eriswell Lodge along with the Suffolk County Double Rise Championship where there was a good turnout of roughly 40 shooters including 14 Norfolk entries.
This years Norfolk Double Rise champion is Richard Bunning with an impressive score of 39/50 who managed to beat last year’s supreme champion, Jason Matthewson by 2 clays who finished on 37/50. The overall high gun was Geoff Howlett on an impressive 40/50.
The veterans title went to the brilliant David Beales who managed a good 31/50 to take the Norfolk Double Rise Veterans title. David enjoys his trap shooting as he won the Norfolk Double Rise Championship back in 1977 which is over 45 years ago and again in 1984. If you see David around the grounds please do say hello as he is a lovely gentleman who is very passionate for his clay pigeon shooting.
This years Norfolk Ladies Double Rise champion is Alison Coupe with 15/50 where she has added another title to go with the Norfolk Ladies Skeet title earlier in the year.
I would like to say a big thank you to all who attended and to Eriswell Lodge for running this event for us and to the Suffolk CPSA for allowing us to double up with them.
We received a complaint that the Norfolk Double Rise was not advertised in the Pull! Magazine. I would like to offer my apologies to anyone who missed out. We rearranged this event late on as the ground we were originally going to be holding this event with were unable to run this event due to the severe damage they received earlier in the year from the severe storms we experienced. We tried to get the information out via this Facebook page and the county website with the time we had available to us with the strict Pull! Magazine deadlines. I felt we were lucky to be able to join the Suffolk Double Rise as this isn’t a commonly run event in this part of the country and wanted this event to be held rather than being postponed until next year.
