Norfolk DTL Championship
We had the Norfolk DTL Championship held on the 10th July 2022 at The Priory Clay Target Centre in glorious sunshine. They’re was an entry of 32 shooters with 18 from Norfolk.
A single whole clay separated the top two Norfolk shooters scores which goes to show the closeness of this discipline. This year’s champion is Niall Crumpler who manages to retain his title for another year as the Norfolk Senior DTL Champion and Basil Pearce Memorial winner. Niall shot an impressive 100/100 (298/300), Jason Matthewson 99/100 (295), Mark Goddard 97/100 (286), Paul Owen 97/100 (284), David Taylor 97/100 (284), Simon Owen 95/100 (280), Richard Sutterby 98/100 (280)
The veterans championship was also quite close with Paul Owen putting in his score of 97/100 (284) as a good benchmark. Other scores from the veterans category Geoffrey Wilson 93/100 (275), David Beales 92/100 (268), Mark Trett 91/100 (256).
We had a good turnout in the juniors category with three juniors. The Norfolk Junior DTL champion is Rhys Dixon who managed a good score of 89/100 (260). The other juniors were not far behind Rhys with William Nicholas 86/100 (247) and Jamie Goddard 85/100 (242).
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the amazing team at The Priory Clay Target Centre once again for holding and organising this championship for our county. Everything ran smoothly and like clockwork thanks to the team and referees hard work on the day. I would also like to say thank you to those who entered and shot this championship, without your continued support it would be a struggle to hold these championships.
