Norfolk Fitasc 2023
Norfolk Fitasc Championship
The Norfolk Fitasc Championship was held on the 8th and 10th April at High Lodge Leisure Ltd alongside the Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex championships.
The Saturday had the best day with the weather with overall high gun from Cambridgeshire posting a phenomenal score of 99/100 which was always going to be tough to beat or even tie with.
On Saturday, Dean Cann scored an 84/100 to lead for the Norfolk title with John Dyson scoring 81/100 to lead the race for the veterans title.
The weather played a major part on the Sunday with heavy rain settling in for a majority of the day until the last squads were on their last layouts where the rain stopped and gusty winds added to the challenging conditions.
All the layouts were set up with good targets which could have been seen as easier in one of the shooting hoops and perceived as tricky in another. One target which looked particularly tricky was the standard off the tower which at first looked like a midi target. On the ABT layout, there was a tricky going away target which with a crosswind had a nice curl to the right which I saw several shooters struggle.
This years Norfolk Fitasc Champion is Richard Bunning with 92/100 to take the first County title of the year. Close behind Richard was Carson Revell with 88/100, Mark Cobbold 88/100, Christopher Smith 86/100.
Veterans was won by Mark Cobbold with his score of 88/100 with John Dyson close behind with 81/100, David Pointer 80/100 and Paul Owen 78/100.
Ladies title was retained by Heather Pointer with her score of 55/100.
This years Juniors champion is the up and coming Archie Alexander with 74/100.
Unfortunately none of the champions were at the ground at the end for any pictures but if they would like to receive their winning medals please get in touch so these can be taken to the next shoot you are attending.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone at High Lodge Leisure Ltd including all the ground staff and referees which helped this shoot run smoothly with so many shooters competing for their county titles.
