NOTE: Unfortunately Northumberland could not field a full Senior Team as only A B Gair completed the Selection process! Surely there are more Sporting shooters willing to represent their County?

In the unlikely event that any of the shooters listed above do not wish to represent their County, then reserves will be contacted according to their finishing positions after the 2011 North Region Sporting Selection process; details of which can be found here (providing that they have fulfilled the criteria of attending a minimum of three out of the five 2011 Sporting Selection shoots):

Cumbria 2011

Durham 2011

Lancashire 2011

Merseyside 2011

Northumberland 2011

Yorkshire 2011

As a thank you for the support shown by the Region's Sporting shooters throughout 2011, the North Region Committee are donating £150 plus ALL of the levies raised from the North Region Intercounties on 18th September at Manchester Clay Shooting Club, to compensate any eligible FULL County Team (Seniors, Juniors/Colts, Ladies or Veterans) that enters the National Intercounties on 2nd October 2011 at Southdown Gun Club. Only fully eligible County teams will be compensated and as such the total amount available for compensation will depend on levies raised and the number of shooters within the FULL teams that it is to be split by.

As an example:

If 150 shooters enter the North Region Intercounties on 18th September, that generates £300 of levies. This combined with the £150 donation from the North Region Committee creates a "pot" of £450.

If only Merseyside enters a FULL senior team (minimum of 5 shooters) and Lancashire enter a Junior/Colt team (minimum of 2 shooters) then that would mean that the pot was to be split between 7 shooters, equating to £64.28 compensation each.

The ultimate aim is to encourage as many participants at the North Region Intercounties in September as possible to maximise levies raised, and increase the subsequent pot,  as well as sending as many eligible teams to the National Intercounties in October. Although both the North Region Intercounties and the National Intercounties are "team" events, individuals are encouraged to enter and are more than welcome to combine to form unofficial teams combining of members from the same County. Our only request is that this is not at the expense of Official County teams!
