2012 Double Rise Weekend!

Double Rise Weekend

With icy cold temperatures, occasional sleet and snow showers and high northerly winds, Bywell was not for the feint hearted. There were 100 registered DTL and Double Rise each day. Credit must go to Bywell’s Henry Family and their staff who did ensure the weekend ran like clock-work. The DTL Targets were extremely well set meaning that despite the extreme weather conditions, there were still some impressive scores, most note worthy being Paul Chaplow’s 100/299 on the Saturday.

English Open Double Rise Championship

The weather and some very tricky targets resulted in the scores being a considerably lower than may have been expected.  Never one to use the weather as an excuse, it was Paul Chaplow who won the English Open Championship for 2012. If not the winner, he is never far away, Ian Mullarkey took runner up.
