ABT Management Report 2015

Abt Report summary 2015

This year our ten man regional team was truly on form at the finals held at Beverley ctc in June.

Captained by Mr Neil Leeming of Cumbrian fame he set the standard for his team mates to follow with a score of 189x200 such is the competitive nature of this regions finest the rest of the team responded to this challenge with true Vigour when Mr Lloyd also returned a score of 189 whilst other team members were only two or three targets behind this which proved insurmountable to the opposition on the day. On examination of the results the top five team members had an average of 94%  and the team in total returned an average of 92.4% which would win an International event let alone a regional team competition, indeed many of this years regional team members went on to  gain International honours two months later.

Also this year the National Intercounties ABT was held at Bisley and once again our chosen six went down to defend what has become a Northern dominated competition having won the event for the last eight years in a row.

Mr Dean Linley who has had an extremely successful year todate  captained the team by returning a perfect 100 straight only having to resort to his second barrel on two occasions and this only to make the opposition gasp. His team mate Mr Chris Tate also didn’t fail to disappoint with an exceptional score of 99 whilst Mr J Thompson shot a very respectable 97. With five scores from six to count the Yorkshire winning team margin was in excess of twenty targets and makes it nine in a row for them having travelled the length and breadth of the country in the last nine years to achieve this goes to show the dedication and commitment that these and indeed all other Northern shooters will go to challenge and succeed in their chosen disciplines and is a credit to the region they represent.

Long may this continue.
