100 DTL Reg For the Hetherington Shield
An early start to the day set the pace with 8 squads. The weather remained fair overall and everyone was in fine form. Michael Turner won High gun and the Hetherington Shield with 100/298. Tom Robinson and Ted Philipson came joint second in their class with 296. Tony Common won his class with 296, which is great after his recent health problems, and Les Elwell came second with 295 with Garry Sayles coming third with 288. Ian Johnstone won his class with 287 followed by Ronnie Chapman on 275. Mike Towers won his class with 280, just getting back into action after taking a break from shooting, followed by Dan Eland and young Dan Taylor. Everyone really enjoyed the shoot.
We are very sad to announce that Hubert Hetherington, the Founder of Penrith Gun Club very sadly passed away on the day of the shoot, but will be remembered as a very strong character who took a very keen interest in all the club’s activities and will be missed by all those who knew him best.
