NOTTINGHAMSHIRE SHOOTERS SUCCESSFUL AT BYWELL
Four Nottinghamshire DTL shooters were successful at Bywell shooting ground over the weekend,
The final England DTL selection shoot and English open Championship was held at Bywell shooting Ground in Northumberland on Friday & Saturday, three of the Nott’s shooters who competed in the selections won places in the England DTL team,
Emma Wheeldon in the Ladies Team,
Ken Rimington in the Veterans Team, (Captain)
Curtis Woolley in the Junior Team, (New Cap)
Emma crowned her weekend by winning the Ladies, English Open Championship outright, shooting 100-298.
Peter Armett Unfortunately didn’t win an England team place this year, but his disappointment was short lived when he lifted the giant English (A) class Trophy at the presentation, Peter shot well all day on Sat in the English Open Championship finishing on 100-299 using the second barrel only once on his last line,
The Championship was won by Russell Ireland AA class after a shoot off with Paul Hodges A class, both on 100-300. (Result 75/74 to Russell) leaving Paul runner up, but he had the consolation of winning the Veterans Championship & the highest Veteran over the two days.
A shoot off between 8 shooters all on 100-299 took place to decide 3rd place in the championship, Peter Armett was one of the eight but unfortunately went out on the sudden death shoot out after successfully contending the first round shoot off.
