THE LOL PINCH MEMORIAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Lol Pinch Memorial Championship was held on Sunday 14 July at Nottingham & District Gun Club,

The weather was very hot with only the occasional breeze to cool the competitors,

Derbyshire shooter Dave Hinchliffe  set the pace shooting on the first squad with a score of 99/295, but then Dave had to dash away to represent his County shooting in the West Midlands Intercounties in North Wales later in the afternoon,

One or two shooters came close to challenging Dave’s score in the following squads with a 292 from Russ Hufton, a 293 from Andy Wragg, and a 294 from Alan Fowkes, but it came down to the last Squad of the day to take the spoils, with Nigel Lovatt, Ken Rimington, Ryan Sharpe, & Curtis Woolley all shooting on top form and all taking prizes,

Ken Rimington won the Championship on a 99/296 & also the Veterans Prize,

Curtis Woolley won the juniors & second place overall on 99/295, (by default  Dave Hinchliffe had left the ground)

Curtis & Dave was Joint 1st in AA Class

Nigel Lovatt was 1st in A Class

A special mention must go to Steve Pinch who is the oldest son of the late Lol Pinch for whom  the Memorial shoot took place, not having shot Trap for 25 years Steve was pressed into taking part and promptly went out and bought himself a Trap gun for the occasion, Shooting on a day pass Steve put in a very creditable score of 95/280, (Keep it up Steve & well done!! hope to see you at your Dads Sporting Memorial Shoot in September)

Our Thanks go to Steve Pinch & his two Brothers for the prizes & also to Carl & the Team at Nottingham & District for putting on a very good shoot with top quality Targets.
