NOTT'S WIN EAST MIDLANDS ABT CHAMPIONSHIP
THE EAST MIDLANDS ABT CHAMPIONSHIP
PART OF THE WINNING NOTTINGHAMSHIRE ABT TEAM |
THE WINNING VETEANS TEAM |
The Nottinghamshire ABT team competed in the last of the East Midland championships on Sunday the 27th October, Nott’s was competing against six other counties from the Region not only to win the ABT Championship but also for the coveted East Midlands Directors Trophy and only an outright win in the ABT discipline would do to secure this title, In the Directors Trophy Points are awarded to each team on the position they finish in each of the East Midlands Championships during the season, at the start of the shoot we were in second place one point behind Suffolk County and a win was the only way to ensure we was going to win this Trophy, Since the start of this Championship a few years ago, Suffolk are the only Team ever to win this trophy and we were out to change this, and change this we did with a win in the seniors, the Veterans, and the Juniors.
The Nott’s Team are not all dedicated ABT shooters and the team was made up from shooters from all the disciplines, some from DTL ,some from Skeet and some from Sporting the only thing the guys have in common are they are all good All round Shots and one of the best of these is Pat Dickman who unlike most all round shots shoots every discipline with one gun, Shooting with his trusty sporter (a definite No No in ABT circles)he put in a fantastic score of 96 in very blustery conditions to secure High Gun of the championship, Ken Rimington was the High Gun in the Veterans, and Conor Bean was High Gun in the Juniors, all the Nottinghamshire Shooters shot well and congratulations to all the Nottinghamshire Team for a great season give yourselves a round of applause you deserve it.
