Cheshire ESP 2017 Team, Selection update2:

Cheshire ESP 2017 Team, Selection update2;

The ESP second selection shoot 2017 was held at Orston SG Nottingham on Sunday 23rd April 2017. This was the first time that Cheshire have held a selection shoot there and I am sure the day was enjoyed by most that attended. The weather was perfect for all, particularly the early birds who set off first thing, which would allow them enough time to travel back towards Cheshire and compete at other venues including the West Midlands Skeet at Doveridge.

The course at Orston was challenging throughout with no ‘gimmies’ but for some, that early start, was the cause of dropped targets on the first few stands or that was the excuses rendered! There was an excellent variety of 100 targets and the competition was over 13 stands. It was extremely well organised and some of us experienced the ground owner, Daniel delivering a Health & Safety briefing to all the trappers and referees before they went to their respective stands. (Well done to all at Orston with thanks.)

The early scores coming in saw Mike Holland with a respectable 80, Miles Machin with an impressive 82 before he then dashed off to Doveridge to compete at Skeet where I have learned that he put in a 97, not bad for a Sporting shooter. Other notable scores of the day were Eddie Wilkinson who came in as Cheshire High Gun with an 83 and Lady Shooter, Stacey Parker (CPSA C Class) with a 71.

I would like to thank everyone who attended today and I hopefully I will see you and others at the next selection shoot at Old Glossop in two weeks time.

Good Shooting,

Regards,

Paul Ellis ESP Team Manager
