Cheshire ESP 4th Selection Shoot - Garlands SG 18th June 2017
The fourth Cheshire ESP Selection shoot of 2017 was hosted by Garlands SG, Staffordshire on a day when the weather was perfect with temperatures in the 30’s degrees and some twenty four Cheshire shooters made their way. The shade, on a third of the course, was a welcome reprieve for a little while, apart from Stand 12 which proved more difficult for some despite it being in the coolest area. This particular stand affected, what I consider to be, the more proficient of our members, where, without naming them, scored 1 and 2 out of eight. (Check on the Garland’s web should you want to know who but they both still put a great score in.)
Now to the scores and performances - The Cheshire High Gun on the day was Ian Cunliffe with a tremendous score of 93 which was a mere five away from the overall high gun. (He must have been getting tips from the person he followed during the day.) Mike Holland (Vets) maintained his current form with a score of 90 where he just dropped one target on each of six stands, Oh what could have been!!!!
Fred Whitehurst, Guy Robinson and Miles Machin (again) put in a very creditable 89.
The Ladies High Gun of the day was awarded to Kerry Oakley on 80 with Hazel Denney, leaving the skeet range for the first time, finishing runner-up with 73. (Sorry, no photos this week, I had left my mobile in the car.)
We now have two remaining Selection shoots to go, Mickley Hall SG on Saturday 8th July and finally Catton Hall SG on 23rd July which is also our ESP Championship.
Once again, a sincere thank you for your support and I look forward to meeting you at our next shoot and in the meantime I wish all of you in our County continued good shooting.
Regards,
Paul Ellis - ESP Manager.
