More European FITASC Championship news - 8-11th June 2017:

Please find a short update on the European FITASC Championships which took place just over a week ago at Lulworth Castle in Dorset (8-11June).  The 200 targets were shot over four days, 50 targets per day over two layouts so eight different layouts in total, with each squad featuring a representative from a mix of countries, including national team members.

Out of a field of over 570 entries, this year the competition was won by Frenchman Christophe Auvret with a score of 185.  A strong field of UK shooters included several entries from Cheshire - Tony Dean, Andy Jones, Scott Barnett, Colin Foden and Eddie Wilkinson, and they held their own against a testing course, made even more tricky by squally showers and strong winds on day one, and variable gusty winds over the following three days.

At the end of the third day Tony was on 130 and holding third place in a very strong field of vets led by Steve Brightwell, but a disappointing result on the last day dropped him down to 6th with a fantastic final score of 170.  Andy Jones managed to hold on for a brilliant 3rd place in the supervets category with a score of 163 and is now the proud owner of (no, not the Jag) but a fine cup to put on his mantelpiece.

Andy will be heading to Hungary in July as part of the GB team for the World FITASC Championships to hopefully repeat his winning form.  Good luck Andy!

Scott finished with 155, Colin on 143 and Eddie on 141.

France came out strongly on top this year, winning the seniors and ladies national teams, and third in the Juniors, Veterans and SuperVeterans categories as well as Christophe taking the individual title.
GB&NI won the Juniors and the Veterans team categories, came 2nd in the Ladies and the SuperVeterans, and 4th in the Seniors so not too shabby.
