West Midlands DTL Inter-counties Championships, Fauxdegla S.G - 30th July 2017

Firstly we’d like to thank the 30 Cheshire Shooters who attended this event, almost three times more than in 2016 which is testimony to the support and encouragement by Holmes Chapel S.G. and Mickley Hall S.S. for this trap discipline of which Cheshire has a rich history of success.  The Veterans, Ladies, Junior and two Senior Teams entered included eight new caps, bolding well for the future. Unfortunately the early squad times were burdened by gusty weather conditions but this didn’t phase Cheshire’s Mark Harris who's perfect 100/300 deservedly won him the prestigious titles of West Midland High Gun and Cheshire High Gun and County Champion, this was the only 100/300 of the event and truly amazing in difficult weather conditions.  Finally, and without a sour-grape in sight, the author would point out the weather was much kinder to the other county teams who took full advance of the situation pushing all the Cheshire teams out of the medals with the exception of the Cheshire Juniors who saved the day by winning Bronze!
