Cheshire Wins National Inter-Counties DTL Title 2017

On Sunday the 15th November 18 of Cheshire’s finest DTL shooters headed off to the North of England to compete in the Nationals and try and conquer all comers and bring home the National DTL Title.
The weather was set fair with only a slight breeze from behind consequently the targets were not always flying true.
We had four squads at the event, with two senior, ladies and a vets, As the timing worked out the squads followed each other onto the range and were all shooting at the same time with myself on the last squad watching everyone else make a start.
Everyone needed to be on form as the competition was fierce, luckily everyone was on form with some fantastic results and it turned out to be a very close fought contest indeed as the Gold team scored a fantastic 1472 which in the end turned out to be enough to take the title by only one clay from Lancashire, yes just ONE clay!!
I would like to give a massive thank you to all who took part and without their support this would never have happened.
The day went extremely well and all who took part worked well together and what a day it turned out to be my thanks go to all :- A Pownall, E Furber, M Harriss,P Relph, C Bushell, P Thomas, P Sant, T Lowe, R Simpson, D Ginders, P Richards, J Bushell, J Hitchmough, K Waters, K Bagnall, T Hurstfield, M Bushell.
There was one new cap, a Mr K Waters who shot in the vets with a superb result and we hope to see him in the team again.
Regards from Team manager and captain, Dave Hurstfield, thank you.
