Cheshire Sportrap Championship - North Wales Shooting School - 10th August

The torrential rain and thunderstorms that were forecast did not materialise on Saturday 10th August, at North Wales Shooting School. There was a great turnout of 73 entrants in all as it was Merseyside County Championship as well. A great course was set up by Brett Davies, using the Olympic trap range, a skeet range, and two sporting ranges, plenty of variety with the targets. Some big scores quickly came in, including Miles Machin on 94, who held the high gun position for most of the day. When all the scores were in, two shooters shared top spot on 94, Miles Machin and Richard Hughes from Wales. Then there was a tense shoot off for High Gun. Richard Hughes was victorious by the narrowest margin of just one clay. Commiserations to Miles for missing out on High Gun prize, but congratulations for being Cheshire County Champion. Other prize winners are, Seniors Champion Carl Vickers 92, Veterans Champion Paul Ellis 81, Ladies Champion Hazel Denny 68, and Junior Champion is Thomas Woodcock 84. Very well done to you all.
