Single Barrel Championship

CURTIS TAMES THE CONDITIONS

17 year old Junior Curtis Woolley Nottinghamshire’s Pull correspondent conquered the conditions to beat the other twenty five competitors to take the East Midlands Single Barrel title at his home ground of Nottingham & District Gun Club yesterday (Sunday 29th).

The heavy rain and strong winds meant for a very testing day for all except a handful of shooters and Curtis’s score of 95 was just a single target clear of his nearest rivals from Lincolnshire Brian Dunmore and Marvin Houghton who settled for bronze and silver respectively, Curtis also took the junior title clear of another Nottinghamshire Junior Freddy Brown.

Brian’s score of 94 was also good enough for him to win the Vets title just three clays in front of Nott’s man Ken Rimington who in turn was  a couple in front of Ray Curry of Lincolnshire.

The Ladies title went to Jackie Houghton from Lincs on 88, Hazel Whiten added the silver medal to her growing collection this year and our very own Lady Chair Janet Stennett completed the placings by taking the bronze medal.

As always thanks to Team Nottingham for a well run event and further thanks to KK Photo’s for the picture above.
