April Newsletter

Hello East Midlands Shooter

It’s been really good to see some of you over the last month at our East Midlands shoots and I always find it very beneficial to find out what’s going on in your county and how national issues affect you the shooter. As always I extend the invitation to all of you to approach me with your views or concerns regarding the state of clay shooting, but one thing I will ask is that you do not do this mid shoot, I don’t get many opportunities to shoot these days and I would like to enjoy it.

This year so far I can report healthy attendances at our Championships; a 12% downturn is being reported by grounds at registered shoots across the country but with a like for like comparison of last year’s figures we are currently showing a 20% up turn, so that should please our regional treasurer.

I hope you are keeping up to date with the East Mids news and the Championship results and reports via our website which is regularly updated, if not please spare a couple of minutes to check it out at /east-midlands ,you will wonder how you ever managed without it.

APRIL FIXTURES

SPORTING SELECTION SHOOT

The month of April has only two fixtures but the quality of competition will still be high, we kick off with the England Team Selection Shoot for English Sporting at Grimsthorpe in Lincolnshire near Edenham which will be held over two days on the 2nd / 3rd of April. As this is the first selection shoot of the year the entry is going to be very high, which means a bumper payout for those of you that get into the money. If you have never been to Grimsthorpe it is well worth a visit and is highly regarded by Sporting shooters as one of the top venues in the country set in sprawling woodlands.
