EAST MIDLANDS CPSA NEWSLETTER – SEPTEMBER 2011

Dear East Midlands Shooter

It’s been a fairly quite month in the region but we have still held 3 events, so congratulations go to all our new Champions and medal winners. Special congratulations also go to those of you that have for the first time got amongst the medals; we thank you for taking the plunge and hope to see you at many more events in the future.

September is a very busy month as we start the team shoots in the Intercounties events; these are always keenly contested with each County having their own particular favourite event. Although mainly team events the Intercounties shoots are open to individuals as well, so if you don’t make your County team, don’t worry you can still shoot it as they are open to everyone.

As most of you are aware the Region ran the Season Ticket competition this year and the lucky winner was Leanne Palmer from Lincolnshire, well Good News, we will soon be sending out details of how to enter the competition for the 2012 season. The prize worth over £750 will allow the lucky winner to shoot FREE OF CHARGE at ALL of our 23 scheduled Championship shoots next year, it’s a competition you would be crazy not to enter so watch out for details on the Region’s website and also in Pull magazine.

Finally before I tell you about September’s fixtures, I would like to wish all the Regions shooters the best of luck in the forthcoming Sporting British Open at Hodnet, I will be there and look forward to seeing you all, and it’s not too late to enter, just call HQ on 01483-485400 now.

SEPTEMBER FIXTURES

INTERCOUNTIES ALL ROUND

The Intercounties shoots start in earnest at Northampton Shooting Ground on September 11^th with the All Round, Northants have a superb record in this event and will be keen to hang onto their title but it will be very close with a handful of clays deciding the destination of the honours.

INTERCOUNTIES DTL

The following week September 18^TH it’s the turn of the trap shooters to do battle at Nottingham & DGC in the Intercounties DTL, over the years it has been a traditional fight between Lincs and Nott’s but last year Suffolk broke the North of the Region stranglehold by taking the team title.

The event is open to everyone and to book your place call the Nott’s team on 01623-883798.

INTERCOUNTIES SKEET

September 25^th see’s the turn of the Skeet shooters to return to Lakenheath CTC for the first time in 4 years to shoot this event. This was one of the Northants trilogy of victories last year but history shows this is one of the hardest titles to defend and many Counties have more than a good chance for this event.

Again this event is open to all, to book on call the Lakenheath team on 01638-533353.
