EAST MIDLANDS NEWSLETTER NOV / DEC
Dear East Midlands Shooter
This will be the last newsletter of 2011, so it’s just a case of tying a few loose ends up and a few thank you’s, plus news on how you can enter the Season Ticket Competition which has a prize of £750 of free shooting.
First of all many congratulations to the County of Suffolk who retained the Directors Trophy, it was a close fight all year with Norfolk running them very close and it was only finally decided on Sunday with Suffolk’s victory at Lakenheath in the Intercounties FITASC, the trophy will be presented to the Suffolk Chairman Dick Hails at the East Midlands Regional AGM in February 2012.
Many congratulations also go to Tony Clayton of Northants who claimed the last regional title of the year by winning the ZZ Helice at Rugby last weekend.
On behalf of the East Midlands Committee I would like to thank the many of you that have made a contribution towards shooting in our region for 2011.The list is long and I will try and keep it brief, but they all deserve a mention, they are the hosting grounds and their staff and referees, those of you that have sent in photographs and reports, county officers and Pull magazine reporters, our regional Coaching staff Mike Williams & Geoff Bryant, team managers and captains and most of all you the shooter, without all those people we could not function and we hope that you are proud to be an East Mids shooter.
A final word on the attendance figures for the year and I am pleased to say that our final total was 1817 which is an increase of 335 shooters over last year which in turn is our 5th highest total since records began – not bad in the face of a biting recession.
