Regional OT Championships

THE “TRAPMASTER” WINN’s AGAIN

Today (Sunday 11th March) Beverley Gun Club hosted the Regional OT Championships with a very healthy entry of 46 which is a nice increase of 5 shooters on last year, we must also thank Beverley for reducing the prices, and this gesture is very much appreciated by all shooters.

It was business pretty much as usual as John Winn once again collected both the Senior & Vets titles for the second week in a row. John kicked things off with a respectable 24 in the first round and was not headed all day to finish with an excellent score of 93.

John was chased all the way though by County team mate and Junior Jack Wilkinson, Jack I’m sure will look back and identify round 1 as the one that cost him the title, a below par for Jack 18, and despite him improving in each of the following rounds ending with a superb straight he finished 3 targets behind John but never the less took the junior title.

Alison Dupree took the Ladies Regional title after a shaky start on Round 1 but soon got to grips in the later rounds, also we have to say many thanks to Alison as well for being the attending East Mids Representative.

And a final mention for Olympian Ian Peel who was the overall shoot winner with an incredible 97.
