SHOOT OFF RULES

ADDITION TO SHOOT OFF RULES

The East Midlands CPSA Committee have become increasingly aware that more and more shooters are not making themselves available for potential shoot offs.

The current solution or shoot off criteria is, if all shooters are available for a shoot off then the current CPSA rules applicable to the particular discipline will be used to determine an outright winner.

If only one shooter is available for a shoot off, then that person will win by default.

If no shooters remain then arrangements have been made to resolve the situation at a later date, this in the past has proved difficult and very often no winner has been determined.

It has therefore been agreed that until the foreseeable future countback will be used to determine any ties in the event no shooters are available for the shoot off.

In Sporting, Sportrap and FITASC or in any event where shooters do not all start on the same stand or layout, selected stands will be drawn out to determine the winner or medallist.

We have been asked in the past if all ties can receive a medal, sadly we cannot do that without increasing levies to account for the extra cost in purchasing additional medals.

Hopefully now the only reason for rearranged shoot offs will be a perfect tie, e.g. 100 straight at Skeet or 100/300 at DTL.
