JOY FOR HIRONS !!

Last weekend Nottingham & DGC hosted the English Open Skeet and once again the regions Skeeters were out in force.

In the classes our region did very well, but it was in the categories where we made a significant impact topped off by Joy Hirons from Leicestershire retaining her Ladies title with a superb 99, just the one clay on her second layout denying her the cherry on the cake.

Fast improving and becoming a threat to Joy was Notts junior Jess Roe who was leading the field on Saturday along with Georgie Stone (Derbyshire) with a magnificent 98, Georgie got the better of Jess in an epic 35 bird shoot off and she had to settle for bronze, but consolation came for Jess in the shape of a gold medal in C Class and silver in juniors, a day I’m sure she will never forget.

Joy herself got into some shoot off action by going head to head with Leicestershire shooter Simon Hill who had also finished on 99, Simon just coming out the winner.
