Brief Report of the DT & OT Weekend at Beverley

Aaron Heading & Tracey Bridge
Olympic Trap
54 Shooters (9 full squads) took part in this event which was shot over three layouts. It was good to see that we appeared to have quite a number of regional shooters taking part although this event was shot in the North region. The weather started off calm but by 10.30am a strong north westerly had struck up causing the targets to move around a little. However, Aaron Heading, although having not shot much recently, took the overall High Gun shooting a fantastic 96, with the Junior title going to Jack Wilkinson fresh back from Maribor, Slovenia where he has just won a junior bronze medal at the UT World Championship. Tracey Bridge won the ladies, although being the only one; it was good to see her trying her hand at another discipline.

Wow - 18 shooters tried their hand at the new systems of Double Trap. Two familiar faces, John Winn and Jack Wilkinson went head to head when at the 150 target stage, they were tied on 103. A further round decided the outcome and by only one point the title finally went to John Winn together with the Veteran title. Jack took Juniors and Alison Dupree took the Ladies title.
Thanks go to Beverley Clay Target Centre & Alison Dupree for hosting these two events.
