Regional Olympic Skeet 2014
East Midlands CPSA - 2014 OSK Championships
Tythe Farm Shooting Ground in Bedfordshire hosted the 2014 East Midlands Olympic Skeet Championships on Saturday 24th May 2014. The weather was particularly threatening, with torrential downpours being experienced up until the delayed start time of 11.00. The wet weather and other commitments kept many Olympic Skeet shooters away from the event, eventually with only three East Midlands shooters and two others shooting the event.
As always with Ivor Seabrook’s Olympic Skeet ground, the layout was ‘stunningly manicured’ and the target setup was ‘by the book’. Of the three East Midlands shooters who shot, there was never any doubt that Nicky Brocklesby (Northants) was going to be the champion, taking a 6 clay lead at the half-way point and finishing on 84 ex 100 to finish. Runner up in the event and Veteran Champion was Mike Young (Beds) on 74 and Bob Meadows (Northants) on 71, third.
Following the event, a BBQ was held and made up for the wet weather. Again thanks to the cooks and supporters, that not only cooked the food, but also assembled the newly purchased BBQ!
Our best wishes go with Nicky, as she will shortly represent GB at the ISSF World Cup in Munich and World Cup in Beijing.
