Regions Shooters Dominate British Open Skeet

EAST MIDS SKEET SHOOTERS, DOMINATE BRITISH OPEN

On Sunday the British Open Skeet Championships drew to a close at Dartford Gun Club, and I’m happy to report some fantastic success for East Midlands shooters.

Pete Bloomfield from Suffolk had an unforgettable day, winning the Senior High trophy with a magnificent 100, and is now the British Open Champion, the Veterans High Gun trophy; he was part of the winning East Midlands team that won the Senior team title, and was also a member of the 5 Man winning team.

JOY HIRONS - LEICESTERSHIRE - LADIES BRITISH OPEN SKEET CHAMPION

Joy Hirons from Leicestershire continues to dominate the Ladies Skeet scene in this country, by winning yet another title with a superb 99, this time it’s the Ladies British Open title to add to her already groaning trophy shelf. Joy also more than played her part as a member of the East Midlands winning Senior team with her score counting in the final reckoning.

Chris Jarratt from Lincolnshire won the Junior High Gun trophy on 99/100, and was also part of the East Midlands winning Senior Team, again with his score counting  on his first cap for the region.

Also many congratulations to Darrel White of Nottinghamshire, who was the winner of the Disabled Sitting Trophy. More congratulations are also in order for Sam Nunn of Suffolk, whose score of 85/100 earned him the Disabled Standing Trophy.

By any standards that's quiete a haul for the region, with the only individual trophy to escape us was the Colts class.

As I’ve already reported the East Midlands won the Regional Senior team title with a score of 496/500 so it’s many congratulations to the following:

Chris Morris & Hazel Whiten – Team Managers

Chris Morris – Cambridgeshire – 98

Peter Bloomfield – Suffolk – 100

Neil Faulkner – Northants – 100

Joy Hirons – Leicestershire – 99

Darren Parsons – Suffolk – 96

Andrew Lea – Northants – 93

Simon Hill – Leicestershire – 95

Robbie Manning – Suffolk – 94

Chris Jarratt – Lincolnshire – 99

Mick Russell – Northants – 96

The East Midlands did not field a Junior, Veterans or Ladies team.
