The East Mids AGM in Pictures
The East Midlands CPSA 42nd AGM
(Left to Right) - Mike Williams, John Wroughton & Carl Smith
A relatively well attended AGM followed its usual pattern and it probably comes as no surprise to see the officers of the region were returned unopposed.
Once the main business was concluded a few annual presentations were made and the draw for the East Midlands Season Ticket took place.
Dick Hails the Suffolk Chairman was presented with the Directors Trophy after Suffolk regained the title during the Intercounties events.
Chris Morris Regional Supreme Champion, presenting Janet Stennett
Chris Morris from Cambridgeshire was once again crowned Overall Regional Supreme Champion, he was presented with a silver cup, a badge for his skeet vest and 500 cartridges which were kindly donated by Carl Smith of Nottingham & District Gun Club.
Mick Russell of Northants and Tracey Bridge of Lincolnshire were the Senior and Ladies titles winners respectively and win a cloth badge and 250 cartridges each.
John Wroughton of Kegworth Gun Club and well known Course Tutor & Assessor Mike Williams were the recipients of this year’s Services to The Region awards. John is a keen supporter of the region and he has done some sterling work in breathing some life into improving flagging attendances at our FITASC events. Mike has for years been at the forefront of coaching in this country and we realise we are very lucky to have him in our region, many of you have doubtless sat in on one of his refs courses, which are not just informative but extremely good fun.
Suffolk Chairman Dick Hails with the Directors Trophy
This year the committee decided to present a Lifetime Achievement Award to Carl Smith of Nottingham & District Gun Club, Carl has supported like John the region for many years and of course clay shooting in general. Nottingham & District with Carl at the helm is everything that is right about clay shooting, he runs and supports many charitable events, and is also the kind sponsor of the Regional Supreme Championships, we cannot think of a more worthy winner.
The final winner of the day was Don Green of Cambridgeshire whose name was drawn out of the hat beating 600 others. Don wins the East Midlands Season Ticket for 2015 which is worth around £800, this allows him free entry into all 23 of the shoots run by the region this season, the prize kindly donated by all the hosting grounds of 2015.
