Skeet Shooters Dominate English Open
Region’s Skeet Shooters Dominate English Open.
As a region we are certainly blessed with more than our fair share of talented shooters, and as always they are more than willing to put that to the test in major championships regardless of the discipline or the chosen venue.
This time it was the turn of the skeet shooters in the CPSA English Open Skeet Championships at Doveridge last weekend.
259 shooters came from far and wide, 63 of those from the region, to take part in changeable but on the whole decent skeet shooting weather.
The long weekend of shooting only threw up seven perfect scores, but I’m pleased to say that four of those came from East Mids shooters, Simon Hill, Pete Bloomfield, Roger Ball and K Holliday.
Many congratulations to the following shooters from our region.
High Gun – Simon Hill (Leicestershire) 100*
3rd Overall – Peter Bloomfield (Suffolk) 100*
Ladies High Gun – Joy Hirons (Leicestershire) 99*
Veterans High Gun – Peter Bloomfield (Suffolk) 100*
Veterans Runner Up - Roger Ball (Notts) 100*
Colts High Gun – Tom Tristram (Notts) 97
Colts Runner Up – George Owen (Northants) 96
