EAST MIDLANDS CPSA AGM 2019
EAST MIDLANDS CPSA 46thANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
On Monday February 4th the East Midlands CPSA held its Annual General Meeting at the Bell Inn Stilton with 24 attendees and representation from HQ in the form of Iain Parker CEO, Terry Bobbett the CPSA Chairman and Stuart Oldman Operations Manager.
Prior to the AGM the regional committee hosted a Welcome Buffet, with tea and coffee which allowed members to have an informal chat with our new CEO and members of staff.
Janet Stennett Chair of the East Midlands gave her annual report detailing some of the successes in the region and the plans for the coming year which included an announcement regarding the launching of the new ZZ Helice Intercounties event to be held at Rugby & District GC in April.
Mrs Stennett concluded her report by thanking everyone in the region that had committed their time and efforts in once again assuring the smooth running of the East Midlands CPSA.
In the election of Officers for the Region the following were elected:
Chairman – Janet Stennett (Lincs)
Vice Chairman – Carl Smith (Notts)
General Secretary – Colin Butler (Northants)
Treasurer – Paul Stennett (Lincs)
In addition, the following members were ratified as County Representatives:
Bedfordshire – A Clifton & B Elmore
Cambridgeshire – T Jones & A Wright
Leicestershire – A Bott + 1 other
Lincolnshire – J Stennett & P Stennett
Norfolk – M Jennings + 1 other
Nottinghamshire – C Smith & J Martin
Northamptonshire – B Meadows & R Tyler
Suffolk – D Parsons & A Cook
Several presentations were made throughout the evening and are listed as follows.
The Directors Trophy was presented to Suffolk Chairman Darren Parsons in recognition of Team Suffolk once again beating all comers in the series of Intercounties shoots, that makes that 6 wins over the 9 years this event has been run.

Donovan Jenkin from Lincolnshire was presented with a crystal bowl in recognition of his Services to the Region and his sterling efforts at injecting renewed enthusiasm into ZZ Helice and being instrumental in the organising of the new Intercounties ZZ Helice Championships, in which he had secured an excellent sponsorship package.

Unfortunately, another recipient of the Services to the Region Award was unable to attend on the evening, but we must congratulate Adrian Last from Suffolk for his excellent continued involvement with regional shooting, we wish Adrian a speedy recovery and hope he feels better very soon.
The Chairman’s Lifetime Award this year was presented to a very surprised Colin Butler from Northamptonshire, who has now served on the Regional Committee for 15 years, and the last 10 years as Regional Secretary.

The last presentation of the evening went to an equally surprised Terry Bobbett Chairman of the CPSA to mark his retirement from that role and in recognition and appreciation of his service to the CPSA for over 10 years.

New CEO Iain Parker gave an excellent presentation summarising what had happened at HQ over the last 12 months and outlining what was in store over the coming year. Iain also took part in a lively Q & A session that covered a wide range of shooting related topics.
The final business of the evening was the drawing of the East Midlands Season Ticket which allows free entry to all 23 East Midlands shoots in 2019 and is valued at approximately £800, this year’s lucky winner was Dave Piggin from Leicestershire.
