Skeet Doubles Regional Championships
Here's to you Mr Robinson
SKEET DOUBLES CHAMPION MATT ROBINSON
Jonny Hall writes .......The sun was shining on the 23rd June for the East Midlands Skeet Doubles held at The Priory in Lincolnshire. The light breeze conditions were good for what many people find the trickier of the domestic Skeet disciplines.
RUNNER UP AND VETS CHAMPION TREVOR FRAMMINGHAM
Trevor Frammingham from Norfolk set the early benchmark with a 95, with a few notable shots, Doug Moore, Peter Cook and Jonny Hall coming close. Trevor was looking good for a regional title that was until the third squad when Matt Robinson of Lincolnshire started to put together a very accomplished round of 96 to take this years skeet doubles title pushing Trevor back into the runners up berth and Jonny Hall into third.
The ladies were a very one sided affair in that only Georgia Tilson from Norfolk shot the competition with a 79. She took the ladies title.
JUNIOR CHAMPION SONNY BOWMAN
Juniors saw some very good scores from the youngsters, Sonny Bowman from Northamptonshire rose to the top with a very credible 91 followed by Ethan Lord of Cambridgeshire on a 87 with Matt Hall from Nottinghamshire hot on their tails with a 86.
MATT HALL & ETHAN LORD
Trevor’s strong start wrapped up the Vets for the Norfolk Skeet Captain with Doug Moore second on 93. Third went to Peter Cook after tying with Richard Bird on 92 however Richard had left the ground so third went to Peter Cook.
Thanks goes to the 25 shooters for attending and slugging it out with each other to make it a great competition. A big thank you to Aaron and Natasha for an immaculately turned out ground as usual, and a well run shoot.
Thank you to all the ground staff and referees for all their hard work and one last special thank you must go to Shane for setting the targets a great job from a young man.
Many Thanks to Jonny Hall for representing the region at this event.
