Ferriman Sails to Victory
FERRIMAN SAILS TO VICTORY
Sporting Targets employee David Ferriman from Bedfordshire wakes up this morning as the British Open Sporting Champion and adds his name to a long list of East Midlands shooters that have seen success in this competition in the past.
David shooting in AAA Class qualified for the final’s day with a score of 113 ex 120 just two shots shy of Childerhouse and Read at the top of the leader board.
In the finals shooting on the last squad of the event David sat joint top alongside legend of the game George Digweed to qualify for the super final recording a superb score of 74 ex 75 with just one target slipping away on Stand 7.
In the super final David missed three of the 25 targets but it was enough to take victory over Digweed by one shot. Also, many congratulations to Sam Green of Norfolk for making the Super Final and finishing with a score of 20 ex 25 but it earn’t him 2nd overall in AAA class.
Many congratulations also to Peter Simpson who was the AA High Gun as well as the Vets High Gun and also Martin Doughty third in Vets and winner of the Grandparent trophy. Colt William Page was third in A Class and also the Colts High Gun. Henry Bevan was second overall in Juniors. Ami Hedgecock was second in the Junior Ladies category. Also, congratulations to Francis Alexander for winning the Side by Side trophy
In the team events our Seniors narrowly beat the West Midlands by just two clays 533 ex 600. Our juniors just lost out to the West Midlands recording a team score of 197 ex 240 as did our Vets team just succumbing again to the West Mids. team and again by just two clays, but our ladies team once again retained their title winning by a country mile over the West Midlands by 21 shots.
My apologies I could not find any reports on the disabled categories, if anyone could help me complete this report, I would be grateful colincpsa@yahoo.co.uk
Finally, many thanks to all East Midlands shooters for taking part and representing the region so well, once again you have done us proud.
