Regional FITASC 2023
Thanks to Andrew at Sporting Targets for the following report from the weekends East Midlands FITASC Championship.
Beds, Northants & EM Regional FITASC Championships
Sporting Targets
1st & 2nd April 2023.
After a full day of rain on Friday there was a lot of surface water around the ground but luckily there was only a few spots of rain during the Saturday with a slight cold breeze but overcast so shooting conditions were good.
There were 4 layouts: Plantation, Embankment, Basin & Skeet with a large mixture of targets both in distance and angles using 60, 70, & 90mm, battue, rabbit and standard.
Plantation and Skeet were the harder of the 4 layouts with some “big” targets on each.
25 EM shooters came on the first day and Toby Reed was the EM leader after Day 1 with 89, close behind was Andrew Clifton on 88 with Peter Simpson and Henry Collins on 86. Top Beds Shooter was Andrew Clifton on 88, Top Vet Richard Flint 72 & Top Lady Zoe Bruce 52. Top Northants Shooter was Henry Collins on 86, Top Vet Matt Sheppard 84.
On Sunday the weather was overcast to start and then the sun came out in the afternoon, but thankfully there was no breeze. We had 21 EM shooters with Mark Goddard on top with 91, with Junior Harry Dickens 86 & Chris Baker on 85 the next highest EM scores of the day.
A total of 46 EM shooters took part.
