East Midlands DTL 2023

EAST MIDLANDS DOWN THE LINE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Nottingham & District GC - 9th July 2023.

With a good turn out and some very impressive scores it was going to be big numbers that took this year’s trophies and medals home with seven 100 straights, two on 299’s, and two on 298’s, and shoot offs were always inevitable, and it was also great to see all of the medals being contested in all categories.

The weather held for us with just the odd gust of wind but thankfully zero rain, and when the last cards came in there was a two way shoot off for High Gun, 2nd, and 3rd overall, as well as a shoot off for 2nd and 3rd in Juniors.

Leicestershires finest Alex Harris hit a straight in the first full round of the shoot off taking High Gun making Notts shooter Allen Warren runner up and fellow Notts shooter Richard Sanders claiming third place leaving Andy Jackson just out of the medal haul with his 100/298.

First in Juniors was another Notts shooter Joe Turner, and after a shoot off 2nd in Juniors was won by Joshua Kind from Leicestershire with Olivia Stevens from Notts 3rd.

Ladies High Gun was Hazel Morris from Cambridgeshire beating county rival Jane Bell in 2nd place, and Olivia Stevens taking third and her second medal of the day.

Veteran High Gun was Allen Warren, with Steve Eley from Cambs putting in a cracking 100/295 for 2nd and local hero Russ Hufton claiming third.

Thank you to everyone that attended and supported the East Midlands today and congratulations to all of the winners.
