Intercounties FITASC 2023

Regional Inter-Counties FITASC Championship.

12th & 13th August 2023, Sporting Targets, Riseley.

The Course was set across the ground from Plantation to Level 4 and basin, 122 & Quarry and Skeet, a variation of steady targets, fast and long, 60mm, 70mm, 90mm, Battue, Rabbit, standard and tower targets all being thrown. The 90mm teal in the skeet causing a bit of head scratching! The layout shot tougher than it had been set but the varying weather conditions didn’t help the scores. The Plantation and skeet being the harder layouts.

Every county had a Senior team, Beds, Cambs & Northants had Ladies teams, Cambs, Norfolk, Lincs & Suffolk sent Junior teams with Beds, Cambs, Leics, Lincs, Norfolk & Suffolk fielding Vets teams.

Saturday started overcast with a slight breeze that picked up to a strong wind 20 minutes into the day with some drizzle around 12, the wind dropped off completely around 1pm but then we had rain showers!

High Gun on Saturday was Henry Collins with 91, followed by Steve Brightwell (Vet) 90 and Richard Saunders 89. Top Junior was Kallum Burrell 83 & top lady was Becky Clifton 82.

Sunday was again overcast and still with the sun peeking through occasionally, the wind picked at 12 we had a shower then the sun came out, the rest of the day settled down but was overcast.

Despite some tough opposition Henry Collins scored held and he was crowned High Gun.

Ladies was a tie with Becky & Georgia on 82, Vets high gun was Steve Brightwell 90, Juniors was Kallum Burrell 83.

Well shot everyone, it was great to see so many teams.
