East Midlands CPSA 52nd AGM

THE EAST MIDLANDS CPSA 52nd AGM

On Tuesday evening (11th Feb) a well-attended meeting gathered at the Bell Inn, Stilton, not just to conduct the business in hand but to celebrate and thank two out going officers of the region who had put in over 35 years of collective service.

Janet and Paul Stennett from Lincolnshire had finally decided to call time on their positions of office, Janet as Chair and Paul as Treasurer.

Janet opened the meeting by highlighting some of the achievements and the progress the region had made during her tenure, and paid tribute to the counties and their representatives who without their cooperation and help nothing could be achieved and concluded with special thanks to her “sidekick” the Regional Secretary.

The Regional Secretary Colin Butler responded and read out a glowing tribute to the pair and concluded with a presentation from the EMCPSA of a Pullman Class Dining Experience on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

With Janet and Paul stepping down big shoes were going to have to be filled so we are delighted to announce our new Regional Chair is Nigel Kingston from Suffolk, and our new Regional Treasurer is Keith Alibone from Northants. The positions of Vice Chair, Carl Smith, and Regional Secretary Colin Butler remain the same.

Also attending from HQ were Iain Parker (CEO) and Clare Alger (Operations Manager). Iain opened his annual address by also paying tribute to Janet and Paul and presented them with personalised shooting bags and a pair of Swatcom ear defenders.

Mr Parker raised discussion on many subjects, reporting on healthy attendances at Championships, the lead ban and the proposed transition, licensing issues, with several questions coming from the floor.
